Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

nice specimen Aaron.......I have a 13 year old baccata I grew from seed............it still looks like a seedling. It will grow 5 or 6 leaves in summer and all will die back in winter.......the cycle continues.......it's just not happy. There are other factors besides cold which is killing off the leaves.......not sure what.

Could it be root die back in winter? Or could it be the variety? I have had them root rot in the winter, in shaded areas.

I do know that they seem to grow fine here next to grass/lawns. Must be bac-t infection over the winter, could be there during the summer but takes over in the winter?

Hi Aaron,
not sure what damages the baccata but it's likely the same as what effects the harrimaniaes and angustissimas........those dislike my climate too.
