So far the best germination rate I have gotten is from Christmas palm > 80% and they germinated in less than a month using the baggie method and a heat mat they are up to about 4" tall so far just wating for the first leaf. I got the seeds from a hotel I was staying at in Playa Del Carmen Mexico. I also brought some Washington Robusta seeds Some sort of Bamboo palm they fell into my luggage somehow. I have been ordering all sorts of seeds from ebay as well. I have picked up Chamaedorea Seifrizii (Bamboo Palm), Travelers Palm, Windmill Palm, Sabal Minor. I was also able to get some decent sized trees for end of season pricing hoping they make it through the winter in the basement. 2x30" high Sabal Minors $10each, 48" Majesty Palm $15, 40" Pygmy Date Palm $30, 40" Windmill Palm $50. I'm also growing a bit of bamboo and Banana as well. I'm currently trying to germinate the following non palm's from seed Phyllostachys Rubicunda, Phyllostachys kwangsiensis, Fargesia paptrifera, Fargesia yunnanensis, Phyllostachys pubescens, Musa Basjoo, Velvet Pink Banana, Agave Americana. Its been fun so far but I can't wait until spring to get some of the hardier stuff outside and by late may everyone out...
