Your average Florida "Coontie" Zamia floridana

My Cycad collecting has started to drift more into the Zamias, May not be as exotic as some other Genus's but I still find these fascinating.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

My brother bought a cardboard palm (cycad) for his dorm room a few weeks back. Of course now half of the guys in his hall have one, and now so do I since he bought me one as well. Your cycad sure looks like one of those...

Dave,

This is the "Palatka Giant" variant, The tips of the leaves are serrated where I believe the Cardboard Palm's tips are rounded. ( If I could take better photo's, still learning)

Zamias are tough to ID, especially when smaller. Some of them will produce different size & shaped leaves just based on general culture.

I did get about 1K in Zamia Sp. seeds in this week. Once I get some get seedlings going I'll post it if anyone wants to try some.
