Started germinating about two weeka after I received them, about 90% germination so far...
(Was worried after the initial mold problem, but that really didn't seem to bother them )

I like to pot these up with about 1/4" of radicle showing. Also like to use at least 6" deep containers. These Phoenix's seem to grow a little quicker when you give space for the roots to stretch out a bit.

No problem with the questions, That what these boards are for.
There is a LOT I don't know and always in the never ending process of trying to educate myself 😆

The radicle is the first part of the growing embryo to emerge from the seed, In the case of Phoenix seeds this becomes
the "umbilical cord" from the seedling back to the seed. After it grows down several inches it will form a "bulge" the leaf shaft and first true roots will form from this point.

There are two main classes of germination with palm seeds, Adjacent and remote germination, The Phoenix's are remote germinators. the seedling develops some distance from the actual seed. With adjacent germination, such as a Coconut, The radicle emerges and forms a "button" next to the seed. The leaf shaft and roots will then emerge from this.

Yea, potted about 20-30 of these up on Tuesday and after doing about 15 singles, I decided the multiple look wasn't that bad and started doing 3-5 per pot 😆
My wife has a guy that she works with that loves Florida and is like me and thinks he should have been born in Florida. So I am giving him a bunch of them.
BTW, I did pot up a Gaussia Atten (SP?) and so far is doing great. Any of yours pop yet? I had another showing a button but I have not looked for a couple days.

Just starting to show some life...Still trying to find room for all these Thrinax 8)
