Best way to crack R. Hystrix Shells?

Cracking the shell works very good for germinating Hystrix seeds. One of my seeds shot its root out in 25 days.

I've been cracking the seeds with my fingers but I can't break all of them. Is there a safe way to do it? (like a nut cracker?)

I used a nut cracker to crack open my seeds. It worked very well.

I used a pair of pliers without damaging the seed inside.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps
