so it should make
everything go crazy right away but sometimes the K can!

Should? or shouldn't?

I thought you only used epsom salts and K in the Fall.

Well it was contagious Jim...hope you don't mind me hitch-hiking on your post.

Uncovered my stuff today (except the big Trachy in the hut...need extra hands for that).

Leaving the frames and Christmas lights in place, just in case I have to throw plastic over them.

Looks a heck of a lot nicer too without all those leaf garbage bags... 😀

Yippppeeeeee...it's spring :blob6: :happy1: :hello2: :hello1: :headbang: :icescream:

Hey Barb,

your Washy looks great. Keep us updated on that one. I discovered my lights in my Washy hut were not working.......go figure.

Hi Jim,

what is the deal with 'Tesan'? I forget why this is different from other Trachy's.

Good stuff guys! Im right behind you finally, except I have to shovel some snow off of my beds. Last 2 days, lows in the - teens C, today 12C, and around that for the forseeable future!

Jim, if you get this blast of southern/western air like me, it wont take long to see some groth explosion on those plants. You should be seeing that P nigra shooting within the next few weeks if this holds for ya! Give it some compost, and some nitrogen fert!

With the mild winter you've had, bet it's OK.
Have you looked inside?

Last year I didn't fertilize at all,as of Monday I will have fertilized as much as last year!

I have been bringing 70-80F water/fert down from my place for all the palms,T.ferns etc.

The color of the palms is so lush and green now, can't wait to see what they look like
this time next week after a week of(hopefully some T/storms tomorrow) highes in the 70-80F range!

Soil temp at 4" is already 51F, @ 50F, N and other nutrients are "unlocked" and you see the plants
color and growth really enhanced.....!....not to mention they really break loose and start growing!

T.Tesan is a more compact form of Fortunei with mountain origins,I believe bred for cold hardiness.

For some reason I don't think I posted a picture of the Princeps.....maybe I did?

Anyway,here it is.

The scorching on the leaves is from the heat last year.

It does have spear-pull........................
