Here is an update for my trachy with the mummy wrap technique. It looks pretty good even though it has not been this cold in Montreal for more than a decade.

enjoy 🙂

Nice video update Mike, thanks! 😀
Your Trachy looks GREAT!!!!

I do really like the Mummy Wrap idea.
As our palms grow taller, I'm thinking that's our only protection option.

My big palm hut, with 2x4s etc, is such a pain to put up and take down.
Storage is a pain too, running out of places to store stuff where it's out of sight.

You guys had brutal cold ... yet your snow is almost gone.
Our lowest was -17C 1.4F on two December mornings, but we still have a foot of snow that just won't shrink or disappear. 👿

Yabbadabbadoo...February!

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

Looks great! I'm intently watching you mummy wrap folks because I think my trachy will be to that phase in a few years. The box I put on is already 10' tall and I don't know how much taller I can make it, lol.

Yeah the mummy wrap so far appears to be a good method -it requires more energy and costs more to have heat cables plugged in, but the convenience and storage aspect may balance the additional cost
