Everything is uncovered and ready for some heat. If spring ever arrives. Most palms are decent looking but one of my pindos did pull. Also planted a washy in an under construction bed and finally build a new area so I could plant my chammy.

Chad, while everything looks great to me, your Sabals are bloody gorgeous! 😯 😯

Great microclimate for specimens against that brick wall.

Love your Chamaerops humilis too... 😀

Thanks guys,

Barb, I had two palms pull this winter. The pindo got sick last year so it wasnt unexpected.

Tim, I left a few out.
sabal birmingham

Sabal brazoria

This needle pulled last year. So I transplanted to a sunny location. Not to mention shaving all of its needles.

Mine up and died, simply collapsed for no apparent reason.
So upsetting.

Your pulled needle sure recovered beautifully.

Sorry to hear about your pindo Barb. I know how palms can be real drama queens. As far as my needle, I was really concerned. It pulled, got transplanted and shaved all in the same week. And to come back so strong, really surprised me.

Wish I had a larger house now. All of my trachies against the house only get burlaped. No over head protection or tents.

Thanks Igor, our climate has been really nice the past two yrs. I cant see it staying like this. We have had a zone 8b winter two years straight. Sooner or later our winter will return with all the cold a snow.

In your zone, that's all you need in MILD winters.

Wish I had a larger house now

One with a glass roof, I bet...like we all want. 😆 😆

Oh yeah, a least a glassed in area would be nice. It would be nice to live in a warmer and dryer climate but that would be too easy.
