Today the Musa basjoo. Is just over 7foot tall to leaf tip. Not huge. But this plant is usually 7 or 8 foot tall by the end of October!

And we planted out our Musa 'misi luki'' about a month ago. At one point four years ago it was twelve feet tall. Now 5.5 foot tall to leaf tip

Keep the photo updates coming!

Godfryd,
What delightful photos!
The little one has yet to learn how special those plants behind her truly are!

Adam,
They've sure taken off in your heat...ready for another 7 feet of growth? 😆

Nice pics guys! I'll climb up my ladder tomorrow and see how tall the bananas are. It'll have to be a small ladder and I'll need to lean over to get the tape back to 4' though...

My bananas are ramping up now. Here's a photo from this morning. They aren't too big yet.....it's been a cloudy, cool early summer so far. June is 1.9F below normal for us.

If you have already not heard our summer has been a washout this year. It was enough to drive you Bananas 😆 Growth has been poor compared to the previous summer.
Despite this Ensete Montbelliardi has put on some growth and easily dwarfs Maurelli

In the foreground Canna Musifolia is just starting to take off surviving the Winter in the ground unprotected. Behind Ensete Montbelliardi is Ensete Ventricosum which I have left in a pot this year.
Does anyone have the red form of Ensete Maurelli?

Here's a better picture of Ensete Ventricosum

Although I water mine, they are just not moving much.

The ground is so dry that any root growth that expands
out beyond where there is ample water-just dies back
and this continually slows the growth of the plant.

To bad because there has been plenty of heat!

Finally made a shot of my banana this morning. It started growing well in last two month. Still not sure what kind of Banana plant I grow.
