This site looks really good for delivery of Yuccas upto 4 feet tall and large agaves.

http://www.cabrillonets.com/calplants/plantlist.php?cat_id=23

They are already setup to deal with international customers and the prices aren't half bad for larger ones. Check it out if you're from Canada.

Great find Nate 😀 . I emailed them about phyto certificates as they don`t talk about them in their FAQ. Might be the holy grail of mail order for us north of 49.

If Cal Plants doesn't work out Turner Greenhouse in Las Vegas may be of some help. They ship all over the world and the USDA inspectors go out there a couple of times per week for out of state/international orders. Their website is:
www.turner-greenhouse.com

They are a mom & pop operation and have larger yuccas and palms. I didn't check the prices of the larger items but their smaller items were reasonable(the small Yucca elata cost me $10).

Allen

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Calplants ships really healthy plants. I have ordered some of their agaves & they were excellent size & quality. Don't know about international shipping though.

From their FAQ :

International Shipping?

* We can ship to the USA and Canada at this time.

About 2 weeks ago I bought a few more things from them. I have always been happy with them. 😀

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Hi Barb,
I wish I had the money for some of thier yuccas! 8) I actually bought a prickly-pear pad (o. rufida) and some kind of hen&chicks. 😀

I think most everthing will live through the winter ok, if the snow melts fast enough. 🙂 I get alot of rot if things stay under the snow for to long. 🙁

Cal Plants has a great website.

Got a chuckle out of their description of Yucca rostrata:

Easterners like it because it resembles a palm tree and is cold hardy. It likes about 20 inches of rain per year.

20 inches of rain? 😯
I was going to plant mine in a deserty-pile-o'-rocks.
I'll have to plant it closer to the sprinkler if it needs 20 inches annually.

Yes, beautiful variegation on that Agave.

Plant Delights just released the cold hardy variegated Agave parryi ssp. huachucensis 'Excelsior'. I just ordered two and they should be here next week. Really cool and rare. http://www.plantdelights.com/Catalog/Current/Detail/07868.html
