Survived a fire storm!

Post by DesertZone » Mon Jul 23, 2007 5:11 pm

Survived a brush fire that went through our area the other weekend. Barely got out in time, the flames were as tall as power-poles and clocked at thirty miles per hour, it looked like HELL :( Could do nothing but run to the car and leave as fast as possible! When we left I could see flames blowing past our house, and had no choice but to leave me corvette there  Well... to make a long story short we are all ok and even my car and house are fine only my plants out side got burned, but I think most should pull out of it in time :P I was even interviewed and had a short story put in the paper about how every thing survived...thank you God

Here are some pics :D
When the fire was miles away

The next day at my neighbor's, just old cars and a shed full of snowmobils, all gone now :(

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Wow  Your very lucky Aaron. I'm happy your all ok. Reminds me of the fire we had here back in 2003. It didn't get that close to my place as it got to yours. Here's a link to the fire we had.

I had to abandon the house once this year due to a large storm/tornado moving thru the area - It is not a nice feeling wondering if anything will be left when you get back.

Luck was on your side to come through that safely, and with most of your property intact too 8)

Good Lord Aaron! That's an unbelievable story. You are (as I'm sure you know) very lucky indeed. If I was out your way I'd be over with a donation of plant material to get you re-started. Hopefully your stuff will recover and your nerves will settle down.

Cheers & best wishes, Barrie.

I am glad that you came through relatively unscathed. That was too close for comfort though.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Man oh man, Aaron, thank God you're okay.
Haven't been on the site for a while...what a disaster for the area. Glad you got out and that everything was standing when you got back (including 'vette).
Those fire pics are amazing, must've been very scary.

Did lightning start that blaze?
