Great find at Rona!
I go into Rona pretty frequently. Today when i walked in, to my delight, I found this beuty. It is a spindle palm standing about 5 feet tall. It was only 17 dollars so I could not resist. They also had foxtails and triangle palms. I guess you never know what you will find at these big box stores, and of course, the staff have no clue what kind of palms they have.

Hey Norm,
I picked up a beautiful Foxtail palm at Rona for $37.00. I also picked up a huge 4 cane Yucca Elephantipes (house plant) for $37.00. I saw a similar one at a local nursery priced over $100.00.
Too bad the Rona in Vaughan didn't have nice spindle palm like the one you picked up.

Phil, Rona has great plants every now and then. I saw the foxtails as well, cheaper than what Home Depot sells the same one for. Anyhow, I am currently working in London and picked them up aty the Rona there. If you would like one let me know and i will pick you up one, as I am currently working there during the week and in Markham on weekends.

So far my foxtails have been outdoors. I have a large SE facing bay window where they will spend the winter. They will get 5-6 hours of direct light a day which I think should be fine.
Keep your eye on the foxtail. Most stores mark down there tropicals at the end of august. You can get some really sweet deals!!!!
