Severe thunderstorms for thursday

Post by yuccaman » Wed May 23, 2007 3:57 am

I was watching the weather and was seeing the humidex values and here it was very high. Then I see a thunderstorm risk. (Thursday

All of southern ontario was in non-severe but Brighton,Trenton,Picton, belleville, kingston were all in severe risk.
also we were in a high risk 70% to 100% and we could also be in a dry line that could turn them into tornado ally
like supercells. Before it was south western ontario but we are next,

I will report if I do see something and send pictures.

I never seen a risk this big for us. Its going to be very hot on
today and hotter thursday.

Thunder storms are quite rare here on Vancouver Island. Port Alberni is more likely than anywhere here to get one.
Cheers, Barrie.

I rarely hear about thunderstorms on Vancouver island and your right.
Even here we do not see much.

In 1986 Trenton had no thunderstorms in that year and there
was really no rain to speak of and the dry grass turned into dirt pits
with cracks.

I had mostly heard of thunderstorms in. Port Alberni
some got severe at times.

We all hope everything's OK, yuccaman.
The only good thing about a thunderstorm is that the grass is greener when it's over.

Hold onto your hat...and yuccas and palms. :(

It is very rare in Vancouver and if we do it is not this time of year but more likely in the fall and winter.

Well we got hit.

I had some roof damage.

W also have a report of an comfirmed tornado (EF0) that hit the power transmission grid and knocked out
the power in Trenton. (East side of the trent river)

Two vehicles were strucked by lightning (A tanker and small car)

We had severe flash flooding with 2 inches of rain.

I had seen extremely far worse than this. With strong tornadoes, Intense lightning, Winds up to 160 Km/h, 8 inches of rain,
Baseball sized hail.

Oh no, roof damage...that's a pain.
You folks had pretty nearly everything at once.
Good it's over.
