Cacti ID question
A few years ago, Paul sent me some cuttings. They did nothing, but for some reason, I left them to their own devices for over a year and a half. No water, little light, nothing. I walked into the kitchen, and I noticed one of them had grown an inch! I had no idea they were this tough.
The problem is, I lost the labels a long time ago. Im pretty sure its a type of "cholla" cactus. Im just wondering if a 3 inch cutting is to small to ID?

You sent be 3 kinds if I remember right, C. whippeli was one. This one was flater, where the others were more cylindrical, but I dont remember you sending me Opuntia. Would a picture be of any use at this point?

Yes, methinks it is O. fragilis with an etiolated new pad growing. The thing needs more light!

That looks really close. I would be happy with that. IT wasnt near any light at all. Now its in a south window getting stronger before going outside in the ground in a few weeks. I should probably water it too
And dont worry, a day wont make a difference!
Thanks again
