What the pictures! What the beauty! Thanks for sharing, Mike! I've been there in 1995 but to be honest didn't see any palms that time. Perhaps 'cos it was a kind of cultural shock - visiting first time USA after the Soviet Union time.

Sure it was a big shock. New Orleans is indeed a beautiful city, mixed with great poverty and despair is a lot of wonderful history and culture. Great food, great architecture, music and history! And of course the parties!!!!!

Right! It was very bright impressions from those days in USA. We had a flight from .DC to Atlanta in the First Class and president Jimmy Carter was sitting just in front of me. Than we took a very small plane from Atlanta to Mobile Bay visiting some oil&gas platform and long-long helicopter flight from the platform to New Orleans. We got at there right in the Halloween night. Burbon Street, jazz and those girls... No wonder I have not seen the palms!!! :shaking2: :shaking2: :shaking2: :headbang: :angel4:

Igor, you were on HIS plane???? :occasion9:
holy cow!

Mike,
Thanks for those pics...love the architecture.
And the palms
And the sun
And the palms
And the wrought iron
And the cemeteries

I imagine there's still a lot of sadness where people had nothing to return to.

See that your last photo was of a bar
That's usually the end of me too...

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
