Spray paint art

Post by Jay-Admin »

Any artists in here?

I taught myself how to do spray paint art last summer.
Always thought how awesome it was seeing the artists in Las Vegas do
it so I wanted to learn how to do it myself. :)

Here's a couple of vids I made last summer.

I had to speed up the vids so they weren't too long.

<embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf" flashvars="file=http%3A%2F%2Fvid802.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fyy307%2Fjaylatour%2FSpray%2520Paint%2520Art%2Fspraypaintvid.mp4">

<embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf" flashvars="file=http%3A%2F%2Fvid802.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fyy307%2Fjaylatour%2FSpray%2520Paint%2520Art%2Fspacepainting12_0002.mp4">

Hope you all enjoy them!

Regards,
Jay

Cool, Jay! I noticed you were wearing a respirator. Keep some of the fumes down, huh?

We used to have a person in downtown Austin that would do art like that. It's a nice talent. Thanks for sharing.

That is very impressive and very cool! Love the way you layer everything. Must be very rewarding and very calming to get so involved in it.

Thanks. :) Yeah it feels great after the painting comes out the way I want it to. Very rewarding feeling.

My goal this summer is to trade paintings for beer. I'm going to try to keep my beer fridge stocked up at all times. :D

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

That's to bad you can't do that in the winter, that would really help pass the time. Do you have a spot you could set up a little paint studio in your basement?

So cool Jay. A new found artistic talent you now have. I`ll be over for some of those beers soon as it warms up. Cactus, art, and beer. 8)

Don't have a basement. The fumes would be too strong. I'm thinking of converting my shop out back so I can paint throughout the year. :)

Updated Spray Paint Pics

Post by Jay-Admin »

It's been awhile since I posted my spray paint videos and I have probably
painted over 50 paintings since this original post.

I thought maybe I should post some updated paintings.

Here's some of my latest paintings.

Incredibly creative, Jay, with spray paint.
Artists certainly have a unique "eye" from the rest of us.

Beautiful!

Really nice work. I hope you wear a respirator while doing these. I see people doing similar in Mexico with no protection for hours on end. I'm no expert but it can't be good for you... I'm always amazed how quickly they can take shape and how an everyday object can become a tool or implement to move the paint or shield from the paint for all sorts of interesting effects.

Just have three palms, banana and citrus in the garage. I moved the palms outside. :)
All the rostratas look great so far. :)

Hey thanks teebee, I do wear a respirator mask and wear latex gloves. I have seen a few painters get really sick over the years from not
wearing either. It's fun to do but can be dangerous if painters don't work in safe conditions.
