They do seem to recover if transplanted before the seed is depleted.
I'm back to using tall containers, here's one of the larger ones still recovering from it's overwintering.

These were started in 20oz cups, the root will go straight down and then round & round..............
They do seem to recover if transplanted before the seed is depleted.
