Snails in a desert climate?

Crazy to find these here!

Found these clinging to a rock shaded by a bush that we had to relocate!

Never saw these outside of Vancouver before this...maybe they've heard it's wetter and wetter in the North Okanagan 😆 😆

Barb,
they're beautiful.
The shells protect them from drying out, so snails are better adapted to arid weather than are slugs. --Erik

The camera didn't catch the beautiful colors on the shells.
Almost iridescent.
And they're so different from one another.

Happy to say we definitely do NOT have slugs here...yuk. 😈
