High of 13F or -10.5C on Wed and a low of 0F or -17.7C 😡 This is the kind of thing that hurts plants. I still have flowers out. Same thing happened last year. And it snowed today. 😥

Where is my global-warming. We need to burn some tires. 😀 JK 😆

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Aaron that sudden temp drop does hurt plants.
A foot of snow would help with insulation.

Have you ever thrown an old blanket or two over your Y.rostrata, brevifolia etc. for these early and sudden temp drops?

I don't with the bigger plants, unless it drops to say -10F/-23.3C but I do have a bunch of towels that I will put over the smaller plants come wed. I don't want to make babies out of my plants. They gotta be tough or die around here. 😈

...the trick is to get them old enough for them to be tough...glad you cover your beauties when necessary, Aaron.

Thanks Jay.
That's the only funny thing about the cold...the smilies.
Like they say "a picture tells a thousand words"... or in this case, a thousand BRRRRRRs.

Poop, it's cold, and getting colder.
You know it's cold around here when nobody wants a beer...

Wow. barb- Bundle both yourself and you plants... I'm not even going to post our long term forecast right now. I don't know why we're getting away with the mild weather (maybe the lake temps are helping?), but I am worried... 😯

The Okanagan's windchill overnight will be -27C -17F
plus it looks like Vancouver is breaking a 25 year record for cold tonight.

Yikes...look at this Vancouver palm in snow/wind (CBC lousy pic):

Yup, time for the new smileys again:

That's not fair! I want snow! Why can the West Coast have the cold and snow and all we get is lousy rain (at least it was above 10C, had it been below it would have been unbearable)? We want our weather back :sad5: !

Seriously though. I do want to be able to skate on the pond in time for xmas. Give me that much at least! All I'm getting is this (we might get a freeze over the next few nights):
http://www.theweathernetwork.com/fourteenday/caon1761?ref=qlink_st_14day
At least the garden is seeing some solid sub-freezing temps:
