Here is a site I stumbled across. I found it very interesting that Kelowna is the least windiest, 4th hottest summer temps,12th mildest winter 17th warmest year round out of 100 highest populated cities in Canada. I think Osoyoos B.C.would be ranked 1st as the hottest summer temps but is only 6000 pop. as they are usually 3 to 4 degrees hotter than Kelowna. Check to see where your city ranks.

Interesting site.
Edmonton's highest ranking is sunny days (4th to 11th). I was surprised that we rank in the 20s for driest city.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps
John, thanks for that great site!
Neat stuff.

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
Has the fewest days below freezing and second mildest temps and to probably most a suprising 11th driest summer. Us Vancouverites know this but most others in Canada do not.
Very interesting site.

We broke heat records last week and look to be breaking more in the next few weeks. Hot and dry for the next forseeable future. Goto love it.

Lytton, BC isn't represented in their stats. I'd wager it's the hottest location in all of Canada during the summer months.
Cheers, Barrie.
Recall seeing a movie on late nite that reminded me of our recent weather.
It was about a planet called Crematoria... 😆 😆

GDD, we all know that for palm recovery from lethal freeze requres a large # of GDD (not an issue on the west coast because it, udsually, doesn;t get cold enough to cause damage...) Windsor, Ontario ranks first! It also has the 3rd warmest summer, most humid, warmest fall, and most thunderstorms...
Does anyone know of anyone growing palms there?
Where does your city rank in terms of GDD?
