Yesterday we finally broke away from the cool air that's been dominating the west coast for months on end.
Everyone here is very appeciative as are the plants too! 😀

Cheers, Barrie.

We hit 7C! Record!!! No, Just joking. I want to live in your areas to have the warmth 😀 Today here was cold and windy. Looks like that thermometer reached a
nice 26C. Lytton I heard reached around that. We are warming also but it's 16C to 20C but not bad for planting weather.

Quite a contrast if the Weather Underground ticker is correct between my place and Vancouver or Victoria areas. They're showing 14c and 12c and here in Lantzville we're at 19c. (May 04 -08 )

Cheers, Barrie.

Yesterday the North Okanagan hit 26 C in the afternoon.
Warm breezes even until dark, and resuming at dawn.
About bloody time.

Barb ... there's a certain point when the interior daytime temps surpass the coast. That transition marks the start of spring really. We stayed in Cache Creek last summer for an afternoon and overnight, and we left the following morning. The warmth was great (low 90's) and I wished we could have stayed a few more days.

Cheers, Barrie.

Barrie, few Okanaganites thought we'd get it at all this "Spring", 😆 😆

You'll just have to book a vac this year, Barrie...there's nothing like dry desert heat.
As they say, "no sweat". 😆

Humm ... hadn't thought of that. Last time I was there was in 1977. I saw Arte Johnson from the old "Laugh In" TV show there. I guess once every thirty years or so should be good 😆 . The main reason I'd go would be to visit my step daughter and the grandson, the rest is up for grabs.

Cheers, Barrie.

Barrie, ...man, Arte Johnson...brings back old memories 😆 😆
I was last there about the same time as you.
From what I've heard we wouldn't recognize the place with its sprawl.
At least Calgary has ROOM to sprawl...unlike the Okanagan.

Cheers.

You will be a little late for the stampede, Barrie. It is before Edmonton's summer 'Capital Ex' which is in the last half of July.

Be thankful you are not in Calgary. They will get snow tonight. We won't get any snow but the temps will fall to -3*C. I have my Bananas and bedding plants in the garage which is uninsulated. I am going to be heating the garage tonight. 🙄

This is definitely a spring to remember.

SNOW !!! yikes 😯 18C (65F) here today and a forecasted low of 7C (45F). Bananas are pushing like vigorous weeds and must be about 10' tall after winters sleep.

I've never heard of "Capital Ex.". Is it similar to the Calgary Stampede?

Cheers, Barrie.

No. It used to be called Klondike Days. It's an expensive circus the same as the Calgary Stampede except that Calgary has a rodeo and we have a Gran Prix Race.

Klondike days is familiar. I guess every city and town has some sort of summer event. We have one too called VI.EX (Vancouver Island Exibition) and I've never been after hearing how expensive it is. I can find far more enjoyment in my garden all year long.

I checked the Alberta highway web-cams at 7:15 am and it does look like it snowed around the Calgary area.
