The Okanagan is going to be down right warm. High for today 21c 69f Sat 23c 73f . Sun glasses and sunscreen shorts and sandals to do my work around the yard. Going to plant some more palms today "oh ya"!

About time for that weather shift!
22 C in Vernon right now...man, this is heaven!
Goodbye longjohns! (although Wednesday is supposed to be rain/snow with -1 overnite).
How about a pic of those planted palms...and your white legs 😳

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
Overcast until very late in the afternoon, and a maximum temp today of 15.5c (60f). Still cool compared to many other lo-cals around the region. I hung out in my greenhouse instead where the temps stayed in the mid 70's to low 80's and got plenty of repotting done.
Cheers, Barrie in Lantzville.
We had a high of 20.2C here.
Planted a trachycarpus nanus and a cycas panziehuisis today.
It is suppose to be in the 20's again tomorrow.

Today was awesome. 😀 Tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer. I was out with the wife and kids for a nice walk on the boardwalk in Kelowna. I took a few pics. You can see them here:

And it is going to get warm here too.
The high for today is supposed to be 0 C. Then it is supposed to get as warm as 10 C/50 F by the middle of next week.
We are going north today to get to get our grandson for his easter break from school. The last of the spring snow should have melted from the sunny locations by the time that we get back.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps
Wow Jay! Kelowna sure isn't the "one horse town" it used to be. Looks like you had some great weather!
Cheers, Barrie.
Barrie, that repotting would've been a fun task in your greenhouse. If I had a GH, I'd have my coffee out there in winter!
Wes nice temp for the coast!
And to Edmontonians...thank goodness you're getting milder.
Nice pics Jay...that must've been an early walk, not many folks on the boardwalk.
If Barrie remembers Kelowna as a one horse town, Vernon's "sleepy hollow" days are gone, too.
Wow did you see the forecast for the East...30 cm snow with 60 km winds tomorrow.
Just noticed the tree swallows are back...their chatter is music to my ears. I hope they move into our birdhouses again. We've got a really large (manmade) pond, I'm glad it attracts them.
I put a thermometer on the patio table half an hour ago. In the sun, it's reading 30 C.
That's where I'll be all day...in the sun!

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks everyone. Kelowna getting a little too big for me. Every month there seems to be another highrise tower being contructed. I think it's time to move to a little further South to Osoyoos. 😀

Jay
All I can say about our weather and our spring is just plain terrible
We had snow squalls all day and yesterday and won't stop and 1-2 cm had fell.
The long range is bad, still 8C below normal.
I wish I lived where all of you's are because its always warmer than
here most of the time.
If more cold stays, things could die like buds, flowers, plants.
Im hoping for wamer weather soon 😀
Hang in there yuccaman. You will be roasting in the sun in no time. 🙂
Regards,
Jay
Yup, hang in there.
I seem to remember you folks in November out golfing and we had near-hurricane winds and mid-Nov it went to -21 C.
And we have yet to face the flooding...
I hope your plants are OK. Are radio reports warning of plant damage?
Are your borderline plants well protected?

"I think it's time to move to a little further South to Osoyoos".
Is there anyone on this forum from Osoyoos? I sure liked that area when I used to visit there back in the 70's. I recall pulling into a lakeside camp site one afternoon and the temp was 104f. The lake was a chilly 85f. Osoyoos was cool back then and cruising thru town after sunset (8 track player cranked) was awesome!
I was through that area the last time back in about '83 and stayed near Oliver at Gallagher Lake. Loved those big pines everywhere with cones the size of footballs.
Cheers, Barrie.
Greater Kelowna area population 162,000 third largest city in B.C.. Jay I`m with you it is getting to big. I really like Osoyoos population 5500 and being our only true desert in Canada. I plan on retiring there in 30 to 35 years. What a great day 23c 73f. Barry it would be nice to have some people on this board from from Osoyoos as they should be able to grow lots of yuccas and palms there. 🙂
