A warm weather system moved into Edmonton from the south overnight Tuesday resulting in Temperatures of 12* C/ 55* F by 8 AM Wednesday. By early afternoon the temperature was up to 25* C/80* F. Over the next 5 hours an arctic storm moved in with winds gusting up to 55 km/35 mph. This dropped the temperature to 5* C/41* F. After taking into account the windchill the temperature dropped 28* C/54* F in only 5 hours from gloriously sunny and warm to cloudy bone chilling cold.

What an experience.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Bad enough for you, but how do your plants feel?

Cheers, Barrie.

Most of the more sensitive plants had already gone dormant. The palms and the hardier plants seem to be okay. They have already survived -3*C.
