Well we`re going to be 9c 49f at the airport 12c or 54f in south Kelowna tommorow. The rest of the week is looking good as well temps in the 5 to 10c or 40 to 50f.The two week forecast shows more of the same. The winter protection has been off for the last few days and will stay off unless the arctic express shows it`s ugly head again. Spring is near!!!!!!!!!!!

Good news! Our fellow countrymen on the Canadian prarie can't say the same. Brutal cold has been persistant there coupled with wind chills are beyond most peoples imagination. 😯

Cheers, Barrie.

Barrie they are a hardy bunch out in the praries. I don`t think my B.C. bones could stand much of their winter. Looks like the deep freeze might be over in about a week east of the Rockies.

Just rec'd an email from Saskatchewan (southeast):

Are you getting lots of wind. We are in a freezing cold snap right now, worse than anything in January which is usually our bad month. Some nights the windchill factor is below -50C

I'm with John.
The older I get the less I tolerate cold...anything below -10C and I'm ready to get out the For Sale sign.
But today looks super, if only that foot of snow would pack down to a few inches.

Wow ... a foot of snow! It'll be gone soon Barb ... promise. 😉
It's just noon and we've hit the first double digit (celcius) temps in quite some time. 10c (50f) and mainly sunny. Too bad I have to go to work 😐

Cheers, Barrie.

We are getting a storm system for Sunday and Monday. We might get freezing rain then changing to rain with 7C.
Hopefully March will change with spring like weather. We have 2 feet of snow right now.

As far west as Alberta to coast of BC are getting spring like conditions with temperatures up to 15C.

It has been mild in BC lately. Our foot of snow last week has dwindled to about 4 inches, many bare patches under the trees. It's good to see the ground again. 😀

But I recall November, yuccaman, and I would've happily traded with you.
Let's hope you get some relief very soon.

It looks like the weather is really going well for you and hope it lasts long.

For us we still have 2 feet with 1 and 2 meter wind snow drifts and my roof had a meter of snow on it. The snowplowed
areas are 5 meters high.

Its going to take a lot of time when we see grass again. I looked at the long range for March and showed 5C to 10C.
If we want it to melt faster, We should expect 20C weather but its not really common except the last week of March.

November was really warm and I know people would like what we had like 20C and 26C. Now I want to trade with all of
yous!!! 😀

With a meter of snow on your roof and metre+ drifts, that's a lot of water with nowhere to go...yet.
Careful what you wish for 😯

Even while there's still snow, plants are silently responding to longer daylight hours.
Cherry buds getting fatter.

I noticed the tree buds starting to fatten a bit this morning on my run. Of course it was probably just me trying to distract myself from the worst possible weather, about 2C and raining. Hard. Uggg.
Just a few more weeks!
