Thanksgiving skiing was a tradition when I grew up in Oregon (down south of you at 45 oN latitude). My favorite Oregon ski lodge has been open for a while already, although higher lifts are closed for weather: http://www.timberlinelodge.com/conditions/

P.S. W was on duty today but they couldn't fly as snow was falling--SOUTH of our farm. Clear and cold up here 😆
