Power went out Friday night at 9pm.......power returned today (Sunday at 8:15am). Yesterday's high temperature was in the mid 20'sF and last night was cold -2.9F near snow and +0.9F five feet above snow line. The house temp dropped to 51F....the warmest compared to relatives and neighbors who's houses dropped to 30'sF and 40'sF.A few snow photos.When I opened up my garage door.<img srcsrcred cedars didn't like all the snow.<img srcgloriosa 'Tenn' buried.....it 'was' 6 feet tall.<img srcsrcprotection:<img srcelata:<img srcbroken branches on Southern Magnolia EB:<img srcjaponica...not too bad:<img srcred cedars:<img srcdebe.<img srcview of Southern Magnolia EB:<img srcfilifera protection:<img srcdebe close up:<img srcaraucana is GONE:<img srcaraucana being dug out:<img srcaraucana being dug out:<img srcaraucana being dug out:<img srclast night near snow:<img srclast night 5 feet above snow line:<img srcprobe set up:<img srcleast snow is like a fridge:<img srcgrill worked.....not bad grub!<img srcWife's sister's house had 2 large pines fall over....they popped up her fence:<img srcsrcsrcWife's grandmother's driveway shows how much snow we got......not many drifts in her drive:<img src

Hopefully it wasn't that bad Tim-usually when we get a huge snowfall(or any decent one)
the palm huts stay around freezing because of all the snow-maybe the case there too-hope so...

the hardy Citrumelo still looks OK as of this morning.......no notable decline. Funny thing is my Eucalyptus debe's look much worse now. 😥

There's still hope they'll bounce back with a stronger warmer February sun.

hopefully the E. debe's stems will be OK............I don't mind if the leaves are damaged................only time will tell. 😉

Hey Jim,

here's an update to the snow melt.........it's been 10 days and today was hot.....hitting upper 40'sF.......some rain too. The snow is melting fast now. Left side of photo gets more shade.........the right side is my warmest microclimate against the 6 foot tall wood fence.

I'm just looking forward to getting rid of heavy winter jackets and boots and gloves.
It'll feel like I lost 40 pounds.

Looks like winter will be stubborn to leave here....maybe 4-8"
of snow tomorrow and not much warming anytime soon...
We may have to pay the price for all the warm weather those fart
bags to the south have had-cold has to pass through here to get them. 😕
