Power went out Friday night at 9pm.......power returned today (Sunday at 8:15am). Yesterday's high temperature was in the mid 20'sF and last night was cold -2.9F near snow and +0.9F five feet above snow line. The house temp dropped to 51F....the warmest compared to relatives and neighbors who's houses dropped to 30'sF and 40'sF.
A few snow photos.

GREAT PICS TIM!
Glad it's over for you now and that your house didn't get any colder.....
That is really something for sure-I hate to say it but the way the pattern
is shaping up you guys may be primed for another big storm sometime in
the next week or 2-I think lot of people don't realize how much snow may have actually
fallen as it tends to pack down while its falling-quite a pasting ehh?
Would love to see you document how soon* it melts too!

That's a lot of snow. A month ago we were also hit by heavy snowfall.

Wow Tim..... Think of this, I used to get snowfalls like that every winter, sometimes 2 or 3 times!
How cold did things get in the protection without the power?

Thanks for all the great pics Tim.
Snow plastered against house siding shows how wet and heavy it was.
We had one like that...the weight nearly tore eavestroughs off the house.
Glad you folks made it through OK.
Hey, your dinner looks like all my meals... 😆 😆
Since you freed the Auracaria, will you be freeing up the yuccas and eucs too? (gently?)
Hope Bill's GH made it...

Tim... I hope all that snow hasn't caused too much damage to your plants The piddly amounts I get still cause a lot of weight damage on my plants.

Ben
Man...that's bad. Just glad to know your ok! 😀
To bad we all can't head south for the winters. 😡
PS I hope your plants and trees come back, or are ok. 😥

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
-Aaron-
Looks like you got it a little worse than we did. We probably ended up with ~30cm or so. Some of it will disappear today, hope this is the last major winter storm of the season, though I do appreciate the quiet and the chance for a snow day.
Nice ans scary... Love your full of snow yard but sorry for the people got two picea trees fallen!
won't be freeing the plants buried. They might have some damage. How soon you predict the snow will be disappearing?
Take care!
We have a terrible cold here though. Nobody knows what's the worse 😆

Nice shots, Tim! I didn't take any in my area, as I was too busy shoveling 😆
The Halifax area ended up with around 1.5' (45 cm) or so, but luckily it wasn't the heavy, wet snow that much of the NE US received. Still, it's piled up everywhere! This winter has been pure hell for me.

the snow was melting fast today................temps in the 40's F and 1/2" of rain. Now all the snow will be a block of ice. 😥
I'm not sure how cold it got inside the protection............the Yuccas probably saw less than 5F.......the palms hopefully didn't get below 10F? The Cycad was small enough that it was below the snow so that should be OK. The Citrumelo likely saw below 5F too...........cold!
I didn't speak to Bill yet on the phone but he texted me that his house did not loose power. 😀

thank goodness the GH would have heat.
Thanks for the news, Tim.
Winter's almost over, Cameron. 😀
And Igor's cold again 😡

That's some HEAVY snowfall, Tim! Looks like Arctic 😯 Glad everyone's ok, cause huge amounts of wet snow can be dangerous.

Great pics, Tim. I hate all that hard work of shoveling and digging stuff out. Lucky your power went back on so quickly. That was us 2 years ago here in Jersey, UGH! Never want to see that again. Spring is a month aaway!!!! Woohoo!
