Sounds interesting; please let us know when it's available.

Max today was 24C, nice break.
Big dump of rain last night, sorely needed.
Everything looks clean and fresh today from the rain, the air smells wonderful!

August sounds like the blistering heat will return.

A cool break here too Barb. Yesterday stayed around 15c (59f) for most of the afternoon and finally pushed to 19c (66f) by days end. Very little rain associated with the passing system so no benefit to anything really.
Today (July 30) better overall but still much cooler than it's been thru most of July. We picked up 22c (72f) under mixed conditions today. I think August and September are going to be toasty.

Cheers, Barrie.

A push towards hot again (cool by Barb's standards) low 90's here, but I'd heard forecasts for 40c (104 f) for the southern BC Okanagan region.

Cheers, Barrie.

Patio umbrellas are now used to shade palms.

Sat and Sun will cool off by 10 degrees. Yippee!

...and our firewood is being delivered today 😆 😆 😆

Was 37c 99f here today. It wouldn`t be so bad if we had a breeze to go with the heat. Three months from now I`ll be wishing for days like this. Looks like a cool down Saturday Sunday.

We hit a respectable 33c (92f) again today. I was short lived but most of the afternoon floated around the 31c mark only a mile from the beach. Down island in around the Victoria area it was considerably cooler.

Here we are at about 5 pm.

Cheers, Barrie.

That's warm for you folks...

We can't complain though...the US Midwest has been 105 to 108 F lately.

Had almost two inches of sorely-needed rain in two days.

Cooldown started Friday night:

We had been suffering from smoke in the valleys (came all the way from Washington and N.California's fires) via winds from the south.

Not here Barb. A touch of rain here in Lantzville 2 nights ago, just enough to wet the driveway. There was considerably more in a few other areas here on the Island. Forecast is for back to warm then hot conditions as the week progresses.
Cool photo BTW, was that taken on your property?

Cheers, Barrie.

Barrie,
You're right, the heat's returning...supposed to be 34 C again by Fri or Sat.

Yes, took that pic of an Eastward sky at my place...great to see a cloud--any cloud--again. 😆

It`s going to be mid 30`s c mid 90`s f for the next few days. I can count on one hand how many days of rain we`ve had since mid June. Been sunny and hot all summer. This summer has been perfect IMO.Ontario just broke the record for the wettest summer ever. They will probably end up having a great fall season as the weather usually evens out. At least they don`t have to worry about watering plants.

John ... I'll bet some places will hit 38c (100f) or better in the next few days.
Plenty of rain in the east huh? I guess we don't get any weather reports for those areas so I was completely unaware of their situation. If there's anyone from those areas that post here, maybe an update is possible?

Cheers, Barrie.

It was 39.4c 102f in Lytton B.C. yesterday .We should be close to breaking records for the next three days. It will easily be over 42c 108f places like Lytton and Osoyoos. Kelowna looks to be 39c 102f.Vacouver ond the island are heating up as well 35c 97f temperature records will be broken for sure all over the lower mainland. Time to go for a swim in the lake me thinks.

ok, I hate to be the party pooper but I think its rude of our friends in the west to be hogging all the warm sunny weather. Here in Ontario, we have had rain 92 percent of the days since summer started. Basically it rains everyday for a little while. Today was sunny all day till about 6pm then within 20 minutes it clouded up and rained. As far as temps go, 24c has been the warmest day in memory. Usually we have 30 plus degree temps almost all summer, this year we have had 6. I dont remember such a cool wet summer, it almost feels like B.C or England.
BOO TO SUMMER!!!
