Scotty posted this interesting forecast on another topic.
Think it needs repeating here:

http://www.accuweather.com/blogs/anderson/story/35768/long-range-model-forecast-out-to-february-2011-1.asp

West Coast (B.C.) october and november, december, wetter.
January and February look brutally cold. Yuk.

Looks like Eastern Canada is pretty good (again this year).

Anybody got the U.S. long range?

Here is the general web site for NOAA climate prediction models:
http://www.cpc.noaa.gov/products/predictions/90day/
Here is the forecast specifically for the U.S. in December 2010 - January, February 2011:
http://www.cpc.noaa.gov/products/predictions/long_range/seasonal.php?lead=4
As you might imagine, I'm hopeful! 😀
It predicts somewhat warmer than usual temperatures for me.
Maybe I'll get a zone 8 winter, like the one before last?
Must go to nursery to buy plants....

Hope it works out that way here,it's been hard the last 3 winters to keep things in shape.

I'm hopeful, too. Just back from the nursery with a truck-load of BLEs (all on sale, per dictate of W).
Of course, this time last year I was equally optimistic....

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

But you've been so successful keeping things in shape, Jim (and the rest of you folks!)
Everything planted, Erik?

Calgary, Alberta had some snow in the forecast for today too, but they're an 8 hour drive east.

We woke up to 41F 4.9C yesterday!
Nice to sleep under the covers again!

S-N-O-#?
That's a 4-letter word on this forum.

About the BLEs, actually, I have not planted them yet. I'm moving them around to see where they will give me the best appearance in winter )whatever that is).
Here is how they looked in the bed of the truck yesterday:

Some will have to come in for the winter: Bougainvillea, Citrus kumquat, Punica. The rest are supposed to make the garden less dreary in winter, or at least give me something to look forward in Spring (there are a few perennials in there).
