Guess what Steve? I woke up to +2*C/36*F yesterday morning with light snow that turned to frozen slush on contact. Then we got enough wind to knock people off of their feet. You won't be getting any cold weather from up here for a while.

Good luck to all of you. May it thaw quickly and you get your lives back to normal.

Allen

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Thanks for the comments!! just waiting for things to improve so we can start the clean up.

Barb, I just improvised securing the electric lines back up while the power was still out. Unless someone is familiar with lineman procedures, the best advice is to leave them be.

I am back. We only lost power for 4 hours which is GREAT because there are still folks out of power right now. I have not been on here due to the fact that we have my mother and father in law staying with us as there power is still off. SO i visit with them all night.
Also, I have been working non stop as I am a Construction Supervisor for the CATV company here in Topeka. So I am working from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm every day getting things back up in the air.
When the storm hit, I lost power and rushed to put everything in my house hopeing that it would stay warmer there instead of the greenhouse. I got about 3/4ths of the trees brought in when the power came back on. So it gave me a chance to do a little Winter cleaning and got a bunch of dead leaves cut back.
I am expecting a ig shipment from Mr. Robert CHumley today so I am really excited.

Yep, got them yesterday morning.
I will take pics of the trees that Chumley sent me as soon as I get time and space (mother-n-father In Law) to take them.
I got them all planted and looking good.

In pots, I presume, Wes?

Sounds like your part of town didn't get hit as hard as some.
There's a lot of devastation out there.
Photos on TV have been dramatic.
