Interesting read-I love when they use terms like"once every 1000 years"
or "once every 10,000 years.

I think this analysis pretty much corresponds to what I experienced in 2010.
Yes, I whined and moaned about how cold early January was, but really, it was USDA zone 7a when I am technically in USDA zone 6b. (And oh yeah, I was in the Maya Mountains of Belize then. All the young folks there complained about the cold, but old timers reminded them that they saw the upper 30s oF way back when. The lows up high in the mountains of Belize were 48 oF. Cold by recent standards, but nothing like the 20th century.)
My previous winter was technically USDA zone 8a/7b (lowest low was 10 oF). Really, I have not had a single USDA zone 6 winter since I moved to Oklahoma in 1997.
What I will really remember about 2010 are the very high morning lows in August. We never got close to setting record highs, but the humidity was so high we did not cool much at night.
Anyway, right now we have perfect weather here. Reminds me of my childhood in Oregon. In August. 😀
Got to get back outside....

Last winter it was cold here "below normal" and this summer was about the coolest I have seen it. Both of the Nasa maps showed this to true. But this fall we are seeing nice and warm days here, except for the past couple of rainy days.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

It was a very poor start to summer here in the Okangan valley until mid July when we saw temps of 98f 37c. Aug. was average most days in the mid to low 90`s Sept. was cooler than avg. Oct. and now we have indian summer temps in the low 70`s. Bring on winter above avg.

Ditto John's comment.
Yesterday my place was 23C 73F, which makes up for May, when weather was cold.
The Northern half of BC has recently been deluged with rain and floods.
Not a drop here...we could use some.
I hope for another mild winter, but the severe water restrictions imposed end-April reminds me of the saying "careful what you wish for".

I would say we are in a nice Indian summer here as well although no frost yet,
so I guess it doesn't qualify.
Finally dry here for a change after getting our yearly rainfall plus in 3 1/2 months.

It was a very cool summer here. We have gotten below 50f every month of this year. Most days were foggy with temps in the 60's to mid 70's with lows in the lower 50's.

any summer beats the 2009 summer we had last summer...........2009 was cloudy and cold, plants hated it around here. This summer was to opposite, lots of sun and warm. I wish every summer was like 2010.

This summer was quite hot, the temperature rose to +41 C or 106 F. 😆
I think we are in for a very different winter here-not so cold.
Still early in the month of October but we are averaging 16F warmer on highs!
