We broke a 100f 38.9c today. Close to breaking records. This is going to be one long hot summer here in the Okanagan.

I think it is about time. It's been so cool here until now, nothing was wanting to grow like they normaly do. My yuccas and cactus are so far behind, I still have prickly-pears in bloom. 😯

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Aaron I`m surprised that you haven`t been experiencing the same heat we have been here for the last month and a half. You are farther south and in similar desert conditions as here. Looks like the furnace just got turned up for you. Another 100 degree day here.

Yea, its been warm here lately(103f 39.4c), but most of the early summer was cool, like in the 70's and low 80's (21c to26.6c). My yuccas seem to like simi cooler weather but need some good heat to get them started. Heck even my tadpoles in the pond are still in the tadpole stage and should have been small frogs by now. 😕 Even with this heat wave, there is still snow that can be seen up in the mountains from here, very, very rare for this time of year.
A large portion of the western US was kind of in a cool spell, but I think you guys up there was missing the jet stream that went with it. Now I think we are under the same weather patterns. 😉

PS It was still 88 f here at 11:30pm

It was 105f 41c degrees today in South Kelowna. Vegas had the same temps as us. To hot to be outside unless you are in the lake. Desert plants are loving this heat.

Man o Man are you guys hot! We're having a PNW style 'summer' here this year. It get's into the 80's (f) and then it will go right back to the mid-upper 70's. Not great for fast growth on desert plants, palms, bananas, cannas, bamboo, well, everything really. BUT, the Gunnera and Rhodo's are liking it!

Barrie looks like more hot weather for you guys on the coast. It looks like you will not be getting back to normal any time soon. We are now 100f and above seems like for weeks.

I'm now an air condition owner. Never would have bought one because when it gets hot it's only a day or two (maybe three). This baby's worth it's weight in gold.

Cheers, Barrie.
