Why am I sitting here reading PalmsNorth right now?

Hail the size of BBs and driving rain. Despite what everyone else is having, my little area of Edmonton has received little rainfall. This last cloudburst lasted 15 minutes and dropped less than 1 mm. The sun is out again and the patio and sidewalks are almost dry. I may have to water again tonight.

But I am more than willing to share the next Hail Storm with you. 🙂

There is a 40% chance tomorrow cause a cold front is coming and supposed to drop temps to the mid 20's.

Heres hoping!

Strange weather this year.
Hotter n' crap at 36 C then cold down to 13 C.

Right now Sunday nite at 8:30- pm it's 12 C and pouring buckets of rain.
A few thunderclaps earlier, but that ended.

I'll be back to wearing my longjohns soon.
Bloody c old for end of June in the Okanagan.

Its kinda been like that here...minus the rain, we need rain so bad, it's pretty serious when I want rain. Supposed to be 35c here for the next few days then cooling off to the mid 20's. I love my 30's but we do need some h2o. Hows your garden doing?

If I could, I'd ship you a couple of truck loads. Ever since I offered a hail storm I have had about 1/2 " of rain almost every day.

I can't finish my transplanting and now I am up to my knees in weeds and mud. Sheesh. 😡

No happy medium this year.

Saw on the weather channel how hot it was for you folks back east...
the humidity would be tough, but plants would love it.

It poured rain all night, stopped about 9 a.m.

It's heading east from here...let's hope the tornados in Manitoba end fast.

Hey all 😀 I have been not on for a long time because I really don't care for my plants this year because most of my
plants are burnt from the sun.

My grass is bad, Its burnt, its yellow, and burning so bad that its leaving sand pits.

We had no thunderstorm but the rest of ontario seems to get them and we don't. Belleville and brighton
got some thunderstorms last week. We were out.

People in texas do not have to worry about a drought in a long time.

We either need a tropical system or a HP supercell thunderstorm to get things back to normal.
Also the fire danger here is reading extreme. We had the least rain of southern ontario.

Feast or famine!
That's so sad that your plants are burnt from the heat and lack of rain.
I don't blame you from being discouraged, but rain will eventually come.

We had an unusually dry and cold April, May was cool then hotter 'n blazes for about 10 days.
Areas around us got nailed with rain, we got nothing until June 4 and last weekend.
Last weekend was the mother of all rainstorms for our little spot in paradise.
A neighbour said he had 2 inches in his raingauge (somebody stole mine!!! 👿 )

Your lucky you got rain after that little heat wave.

We had at least 2 major heat waves that nuked most of the grass.
Vernon BC is much dryer than we are but they can get extremly wet too.

2 inches of rain will do us well.

I remember the time in 1936 we had a deadly heat wave that drestroyed all the crops
and even worse was the Great Deppression. It reached 41C for 12 days in a row!! humidex on the first
2 days reached 50C but the other days had dry heat. After the heat wave. in september things got funny
and unstable. We had 16 days with thunderstorms and most were severe. October was bad from the day 1
to 31. Thunderstorms became deadly supercells and at the 29 of october it reached 30C and line of supercells
rolled through and F2 and F4 tornado hits the CFB trenton airbase and 2 people were killed.
I was not alive then but my great grandpa told me.

Lucky1 you have been getting a great comfurtable summer lately. But August is the time
when you get the heat.

Wow your description of that heat wave made me SWEAT!
And then followed by that horrible October with supercells...man, how scary.

July AND August are usually (almost) unbearable heat here, but things change.
I do hope you get 2 inches of rain.

16 days of thunderstorms...I cannot imagine what that would do to the TV, the microwave, the computer,
the lights, fridge, freezer, etc. etc. We get one little blip or power surge and everything goes wonky.
Blows me away that ALL houses aren't built with lightning/surge suppression on the main panel.

But like most of us have believed re weather, it seems to be shifting.
Our spring was crappy and cold (but no rain to speak of).
I bet it'll be hot until September, maybe mid-october.

Hope for rain for you folks.
