No frost yet here in chicago. Dont expect that until maybe the first or second week of november. Weather channel.com has almost 80 today dropping to the 60's in 10 day forcast. I can honestly remeber when I was a child having snow or sleet on halloween. My banana and everything is still green in the yard but all the trees almost bald from loosing there leaves (except for my southern magnolia). Is it possible I wont have a frost until Dec? It will be fun to wait and see.

Hi Macario Mike,

Most people seem to report weather "shifting"...later summers, mild later into Fall.
20+ years ago here we had very nice spring weather early March...now it's usually cold and windy here even until end May.

How did your big palms do this year?
And how's that gorgeous Spanish Bayonet yucca?

Possibly 30(F) here Friday morning-looks better than the 27 they were saying yesterday.

A bigger problem nay be 50mph winds!

At the airport there have been abour 5 or 6 frosts. At my house, there have been 3, and no lower then -2C. Not bad for central canada. Passiflora is still going, so is the cyperus.... damn its almost november 😈 Thank you climate change.

IT has definetly changed here. We didnt have frost here till december, ad we didnt have consecuitive days with frost untill january. I remember 2 or 3 halloweens we had snow, when i was young..... none as far as i can remember for at least 15 years. The summers are becomming a bit less humid, but warmer temps, while spring has been either cool ad wet, or super warm and early. We generaly have predictable springs witha slow increase in temps, with rain mabey twice a week. We didnt have a drop of rain this spring here from march to may, and 2 15mm rainfalls then nothing untill the middle of june. MArch - june is, and as far as my memory goes... the wettest months of the year. ITs warming, and drying up here in a few words..

Hi Mike,
I'm 300 miles east of the WET coast 😆 😆 😡
Had some rain today, then sunshine, then a five-minute HAIL storm (what sardines hear on the roof of their can!)

Autumn's been great, lovely warm days and lots of sun.
The long autumn resulted in a couple of outdoor jobs getting completed, still more to do before the snow flies.

If your nice weather keeps up, your Hallowe'en guests will be wearing shorts!

Where are you exactly? What part of BC? My best friend just moved back from Vancouver Island this month.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

yep, they just moved back to the philadelphia area. But it is odd that west of the city where my family is currently (and where I grew up), the climate is so different. They are usually 5 to 7 degrees cooler in winter and at night. They have a;ready had frost and it is still 29 degrees here tonight only going to 63...Weather is amazing. I'll have to check your town out on google earth, chat soon. Happy Halloween!!!!!

Mike,
So your friend didn't like Vancouver Island?
or just homesick for Philly?
We'll be the ones hitting 29, not you folks for quite some time.

Hey Aaron, a dusting of snow 😕 Yuk.
The yucca brevifolia must look gorgeous!

Whistler/Blackcomb (site of winter olympics) got a foot of snow last night.
Good place for it. 😆

40 degree temperature swing for today. Low in the morning was 43 and now we are up to 83. This was the coldest we have gotten so far this fall. I'm hoping for not frost untill December but this year and summber have been quite cool so far.

Mike, turn that AC off! You'll be wishing for the warmth soon enough anyway. Plus you need to save electric bills for palm hut heating....
Bixby forecast for Friday morning is 31 oF / -1 oC but I'm hoping being up on a hill spares me a degree.
That worked this time last year when I only got to 34 oF in the first frost for Bixby.
I'm not ready, in more ways than one. --Erik
