I just got this email warning about a "frost advisory"
http://www.wunderground.com/US/OK/060.html#WIN
Is anyone else getting frost yet?
I have done a total of--nothing--to get ready for frost. I guess I'll pray.

I quickly brought in potted traveler's palm and Chameadorea geonormis and ernesti-augustii.
Everything else ought to be able to take a light frost. (No, not really.)
Reminds me why I try to grow only zone 9 palms in pots.

It merely got to 39 oF. One advantage of living up on a hill: the coldest air on wind-less nights settles into the valleys.
You shared your 10-day outlook on another thread. You can put in my zip code (74008) 😀 😀 😀

We're doing Ok here in the big city- low to date is 5.6C (42.8f). Not the same story at the garden, Kingston hit 39.5f (4.2C) and I'm generally cooler than the weather station!

Looks like we're in the clear again here (lows in the 10C range for the foreseeable future) http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/caon0696?ref=topnav_weather_savedcity

A low-laying town nearby (NOT north of me) got to 28 oF, so again, one of those days I'm glad to be up on a hill.
Just a friendly reminder to get ready for the nights to come.

No frost here yet, our lowest overnight temp has been around 50, but it may get to 48 tonight. I'm just so friggin delighted to have the AC off finally that I am sleeping with the windows open to savor the night sounds. I missed that all summer long. It usually gets to frost around Halloween here. then a hard freeze in November sometime.

That's amazing! Like late spring. I think we will be getting some of your weather this coming week...I love it! I still have all my indoor palms outside and my bananas are still growing, though slower now of course. Although, I know what is to come, COLD!!!!!!!!!! Very soon after Halloween/Thanksgiving I;m sure....

For late October, we're pretty mild too.
Just a couple of nights last week with a touch of frost.

We're finally getting some rain after what seems like 6 weeks of sunshine and above normal temps.
The Wet Coast (west coast) is getting pounded with rain, but not much makes it over the mountains to the interior.

You guys are still in the 70's...wow
🙂

Hi Mike,
I'm 300 miles east of the WET coast 😆 😆 😡
Had some rain today, then sunshine, then a five-minute HAIL storm (what sardines hear on the roof of their can!)

Autumn's been great, lovely warm days and lots of sun.
The long autumn resulted in a couple of outdoor jobs getting completed, still more to do before the snow flies.

If your nice weather keeps up, your Hallowe'en guests will be wearing shorts!
