Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Ya paul... youve been having weeks of rain. The farmers are what 3 weeks behind? Hows the succuclents/desert plants handling the rain?

DZ - same here. A night at 4C, then back up to the 7 - 10C range. This is definetly the colds last showing this year 😈

Jesse, sounds like southern Ontarians are getting 30C next week with high humidity.

Vancouver TV weather station said last night that April and May have been the coldest and wettest since 1956.
That cold spilled over into the Okanagan, bloody brutal.
4C this morning. :verycold:

I've had enough!

4C is the low for tonight, everything is on its own, including Fucus benjimina, areca palm and bohdi tree (ficus religiosa, which barb, id suggest you add to you "must order" seed list... its he species of tree buddha sat under and attained enlightenment ( if your into that sort of thing), the first tropical plant i germinated from seed, and really nice houseplants! I germinated seeds that were 5 years old, and they sprouted in 4 days 😯 )

After 2 successful nights of covering the sensitive plants ( cucs, tomato, ipomia, new grape, peppers and others), I lost all my tomato plants, and pepper plants, and morning glorys that were planted, and even a few leaves on my hardy rhodie got a bit singed ( planted less then a week ago, thats why) although it had a large pot on it.

Its over now..... after the "chilly" ( balmy compared to the -3C this morning) 4C tonight, the lows are back to above seasonal !

AAron, i think were playing follow the leader here.... We are also forcasted for a "normal" summer.

But then again it depends on who or where you look. The almanac says im going to have a hot and wet summer, while enviroment canada is saying, " average temps and above average rain ( god we need the rain)

Then other ones ive read say average.... I think ill just wait and see..

I hope to see something near normal for June, I just looked at my forcast for today and a high of 54F when the avg is 76f and the record is 101F. Been way too cold here, coldest I have ever seen it for March, April, May. I might not have a yucca left if it dont start to warm up a little. 😐

Well you do have alot of native yucca dont you?

My filamentosa was sitting in water off and on for months before the snow melted. Most of it died, but now its got 5 new leaves!

We did have a spring/summer like you are summer 09. I moved back that year, what a crappy time to choose. The high temp for canada day ( july 1st) a blistering, tropicalesque 5C. i think the average high that year was 14C ( our average in the summer is 20-25C), and all it did was rain. The only bonus, was the fall. 30C temps all the way from midde august to jsut before halloween!

Have faith dude!

Thanks for the faith, If they die I will replant and all will be ok .

But with such an unusualy bad winter/spring on my yuccas and some cactus I thought I would give everyone the info. Yes I have many native plants, but even some of them froze like O. fragils and even though they are not native all my Echinocereus triglochidiatus died except for E. trig Var. mojavensis. Been a tough year, but then again I whine every spring. 😆

SO a high of 10C yesterday, a low of 9C, a high of 27C today, and a low of 9C, then a high of 13C, and a low of 5C..........................................

Only word for that is "anal"...

After the winter you had eric, no one in OK should be complaining about the heat ( id complain about the tornados this year though :S ) LOL

Summer forecast for my area:

Above average rain ( the storm tracks are apperantly running right accross the great lakes), and about average temps. They also called this summer " varied", becasue of a few days of hot weather, and a few days of cool.....

I can see it being right, the spring has been EXACTLY that so far...
