Ouchy!

We have gone from seeing dewpoints the highest I have ever seen last summer(high as 86!)to
some of the driest air I can recall seeing, right now(2:57 p.m.) it is 75(F) at my house, the dewpoint is 32(F)-
that works out to 12%

Yesterday it was 71(F) with 19(F) dewpoint, that works out to 7% relative humidity-
pretty much unheard of here.

Quite a turn around 🙄

No snow here and no frost either.
I don't expect to see frost until end of November or even in to December.
We didn't receive any snow last year not even a snow flake.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks.
Glad to be back.
I have spent the last year totally renovating my house including the yard.
My yard is full of trachies now.
I found a nursery in South Delta that was selling trachies for $29.99 each with about 18 to 24" trunks and nice large fronds that made the palm about 4 - 5 ' tall.
I loaded up my Jeep Commander twice full of them.
It was a great deal.
I am off to the big island of Hawaii but when I get back I will post pics.

It was full of trachies years ago too!

What a great find...does that South Delta nursery have a website and do mail order?
Did they have any other palms, say, Butia or Brahea?

Have a great vacation Wes
Will look forward to the pics on your return.

Hi John.
No it was Harris Nursery on Harris Road I believe.
South Delta BC.
Thanks Barb I leave Friday morning.
Pretty excited.
Not sure if Harris Nursery has a mail order program or not.
Try them on the Web.
They are part of the Nurseryland chain.
In the spring I will take a drive out there again and let everyone know.
I have another area I am going to fill up with palms.
Not sure if there were any other palms or not.
I just went down there for the trachies.

There was the same amount of snow in Almaty 20 days ago. Since that time my Arundos, Gunnera, Fuchia magelanica are OK. Nothing to say about palms, they are indoor now. All yuccas are fine so far.

I could cry...

http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/city/pages/bc-27_metric_e.html

the only saving grace is that weather forecasts have been "all over the map" over the last year (yup!)
Hope they're wrong again.
