We have an artic blast due to arrive this weekend. Our weather lore experts reckon on a colder than normal November. I've been running around like a headless chicken digging up tender plants into pots only to realise there ain't nowhere to put them...I've quite literally run out of storage space 😳
I always hate it when snow arrives as temps go a lot lower due to heat reflection back into space. Give me a frost any day.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

In the 80's Bryce?
Trade homes? 😆 😆

Saw a sign today on a tanning shop banner.

"Snow before Hallowe'en? WTF"

(sorry folks, but I laughed all the way home)

Andy, hope your arctic blast is finished.
So...where DID you put your tender plants? 😆

Barb... what does WTF mean 😈
Artic blast was a non starter... just cold wind and a touch of ground frost. Cannas,Dahlias, Nanas were unaffected. A warmer week ahead 10-12C.. positively tropical 😆
Space is very restricted and i have four more plants on the way...three yuccas and one Palm 8)

Ooooh, can't wait to see the photos, Andy.

By the way, WTF means What The Fooey :rabbit:

You folks in southern England ALWAYS have tropical weather...compared to the rest of us anyway.
We're so jealous.
London, for example is at 51 N.
I'm at 52 N...and my winter temps are brutal compared to yours.

I saw on tv that southern France, which has virtually no winter comparing to us, had huge amounts of snow! I mean really huge 😯

I got 50% discount on them.. so buy now worry later 😕 I bought a Yucca Baccata, Rupicola,Gloriosa bright edge and Phoenix Theophrasti supposedly hardy to -12C when mature.
CIDP is tender as a Ducks bottom in my area but hardy in London.. 50 miles away 🙄
BTW were twins as I'm 52 N but wish the numbers were reversed 😆

Phoenix theophrasti...wow, that's quite a find.

Get your pruning shears sharpened, Andy, to look after suckers. 😯

http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/49257/

And the fact that you can grow it--and nearby a CIDP--proves how unfair the "twin 52N" really is.
