Your palms look great. I hope your Yuccas will pull through and THRIVE this summer.

Hey..............I think those footprints in the snow were created by the same animal that created mine.....................can you get a close-up view of those prints? :tongue1:

Your palm hut for your big Trachy looks tall enough for 1 more year............then your in trouble.............or should I say your Hubby will be in trouble!:sad2:

merely a giant condor 😆

And if these 3 y. rostrata get wimpy, I'll put the Big Mamas there.
And add the Dasylirion wheeleri at each end behind the Washies.

Much nicer views of Canada's only desert, looking the other way

Yes, finally, we have some moisture.
This 6 inches of snow on top of thawed ground will benefit, versus just running off the hill over frozen ground as it usually does.
Just hoping it snowed even more at the water reservoirs on the mountaintop.

Bureaucrats have been rubbing their hands with glee, knowing they can charge so much more for water when supply is low (the buggers) 😈
Just announced in the newspaper that water rates are going up 18%.
Part of that will probably give them a bonus too...(don't get me started...)

A lot of fixed income people (seniors etc) aren't going to be able to afford to water the area's lovely 60+ year old shade trees.
The shade trees will eventually die, making the entire area hotter and hotter in summer.
And we're already semi-arid.

think you have enough plum suckers

Photo was the Flemish Beauty pear tree, Jesse.

Tim, dasylirion is less hardy than Y.rostrata???? Poop.

Barb looks like you got about the same as us here. All melting with rain now. It`s good to build up the ground water for a little while. Is that pic looking towards Vernon?

Yeah, John, roads were brutal late last night after a light rain fell at -1C 😯

Is that pic looking towards Vernon?

The last pic I posted -- my back was to Vernon, my place is on that hill.
Understand you wouldn't recognize the shot...you arrive along a different road.

We sure do need the moisture...

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks Aaron, open spaces are good for the soul... 😀
I get the heebie-jeebies visiting friends in subdivisions.

With the recent--and probably too early--return of songbirds (and robins), I'm so anxious to get outdoors and do something.
Anything...poke around in the soil, drag potted plants outside, plant some stuff, set up lawnchairs.

Cabin fever, probably. 😐

3 month prediction for BC:

The BC River Forecast Centre has "predicted that La Nina conditions are expected to continue for the next 3 months throughout most of British Columbia, resulting in cooler than normal and normal to wetter than normal conditions. However, La Nina is more likely to have a significant impact on the Western, Coastal portions of the Province than the Interior.

I don't mind the wetter part...
