As I expected the most north western part of Washington which is the closest to where I am has had no climate change.

Wes, last summer was gorgeous for the Lower Mainland...isn't that a little unusual?

And as expected the Okanagan is getting hotter and drier in summer.
This past winter we saw about 120 to 130 per cent of normal snowfalls...

The expected "water shortages" aren't apparently because we aren't getting enough moisture in fall/winter months, turns out it's a storage issue. Reservoirs need expanding, yet bureaucrats can't get their heads around such a massive project.
And some areas have no reservoirs at all. Poor planning from years ago.

It is believed by most that Vancouver gets a lot of rain all year round but in the summer months it is one of the driest spots in Canada. We get very little rain in the summer. It has become our norm.
I would say last summer is typical for us.

As far as water reserviors, Vancouver is addressing the issue and expanding our Capilano and Seymour resevoirs. Shoul be completed next year.

As a child in Vancouver I recall gorgeous summers. Then for what seemed like 10 years, all it did was rain (just when I was learning to love gardening, ha ha).

Hats off to the politicians and bureaucrats in Vancouver for expanding the reservoirs...thinking about the future.

North Okanagan bureaucrats just TALK AND TALK, blah blah blah, go around in circles, all the while THEY
are earning the huge bucks. Not much left over for infrastructure.
They're always blabbering about conserving water when there's a s***load of snow in the watersheds,
just not enough storage capacity.

Then everybody gets discouraged when they see a city truck WASHING the sidewalks clean of road sand with a fire hose!
Don't get me started on 4 levels of government, 1 taxpayer.
