😕 this spring sucks 😕
Jordan-
The spring was rough here too. Remember though, your spring is delayed as is your fall! Cameron has the same situation...
Your average high this time of year is 15C http://www.theweathernetwork.com/statistics/CL8403506/canf0253 ... 7C isn't that far off, really (Ok, so it is, and it sucks. Sorry). Oh, and you kill it in winter. The all-time low listed there is -23.3C, a zone 5 winter!
For comparison:
Halifax (inland, mind you): http://www.theweathernetwork.com/statistics/CL8205090/cans0057 . June average high is 18.7C.
Toronto (inland) : http://www.theweathernetwork.com/statistics/CL6158350/caon0696 . June average 23.5C.
Jordan, this weather is making me furious!! 👿 lol
I've got all my Araucaria araucana outside, hopefully they don't get root rot and die!
Having lived in both Toronto and Halifax, I would definitely take Toronto's weather any day, even though Toronto might be half a zone lower than my location!

Still waiting to put the bananas in the ground. 🙁 I live in the Waterford Valley ,we are usually 2 or more degrees warmer than the airport, but its still wicked cold. Currently at my house its 7.5C!
Cameron - The monkey puzzles should be alright, they like the cool wet weather if im not mistakin.... IF anything i bet they enjoy it! ( same with your trachys!)....
Jordan, its ok, I think vancouver got the shitty end of the stick this year, and calgary wasnt the greatest this spring either. Most of the country was cold and or wet ( except me, I was pretty average, thank you lake superior! ), although, after 3 weeks of no frost, we had 3 nights of ground frost, 2 days before out average last frost..... that angered me, and wiped out my tomato, pepper, and cucumber plants 👿 For some reason, I got to lazy to plant my other stuff, and thank god, cause they wouldve been toast ( musa, colocasia etc..)
Itll warm up, think of how much longer your fall is compared to lots of us here!

That's the pits, folks.
And yes, not only Vancouver, but the rest of BC got the short end of the stick this year.
By mid next week, we're supposed to be at 35C...after no spring April May and part of June.
Wouldn't be so bad if summer extended well into Fall...but it didn't last year either after a crappy start.
Sure makes summer short.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

My first year back in ontario, we had a horrible summer. March - july, was generaly the same weather:
5C - 10C, and rain....... Although, we had 30C in october.....
