We have pretty much missed spring this year. The cold snap and snow in April meant a late spring. No spring rain together with strong winds dried everything out, leaving deep cracks in the soil. Now the winds and near record heat have brought on Brushfire season 3 -4 weeks early.

We won't be setting any records over the next few days as the smoky haze will provide some shade and temps should stay below 30*C. I wish the people around Newbrook good luck. They should be seeding crops instead of living in emergency shelters while they wait to see if they have anything left to return to.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps
