YUCK! That's as cold as it got all winter here in T.O. (yeah, mild winter; Ktown hit -21C)... Good luck!
Wasnt any colder then -6C or -8C at my house, the airport recorded -10C. If we warm up fast today, I think things may have a decent chance....

Heres the good thing Jim. I have NOTHING major planted, as my season was just getting going. The lilacs havnt even opened buds yet. I forgot about my Rhodo "hellikki", but im sure its fine, aw crap and my azalea (just reembered). The apple is uncovered (buds werent open), my russian olive (just opened buds), veggie seedlings, crape vines (again, not bud burst). Pretty much anything that had closed, yet swolen buds I left alone. Same with spring bulbs. THe only things that sprouted were chives, bee balm and a few other random ground covers
I covered my rose, bamboos, and clematis (the buds JUST opened the day before the freezing rain 👿 )

In retrospect, the ice might have protected some things from the cold. IT also showed the moderatign effect of the lake. You went near the airport, they got 2 inches of snow. Any further away then that, they got a foot. The closer to the lake you got, the more freezing rain.mix there was. It was actually cool to see it in pictures from the different areas here!

Naw, nothing like that. lowest forcasted is -6C (yeah cold, but only 3C below average lows, concidering the long term above average temps weve had, this is nothing). Everything is fine. I may have lost a random bud here or there but everything is ok. Just over paranoid 😀

With climate change comes more unpredictability weather wise. Weve been getting less and less snow here over the last 10 15 years.
I hope that Noreaster gives you a good few inches of rain (without flooding of course 😀 )

It should give us at least a 1.5 inch total at the least...We're pretty lucky here in NJ, sandy soil absorbs pretty well. Thanks
