Foolproof protection?
I found this site the other day for protecting palms in the winter. I think I will be planting a couple of my W.filifera along with Trachy`s and know they will make it through the 4 to 6 weeks each winter when needed. I`ve never seen such a complete protection package for palms. The crown, trunk ,and roots all are protected.

Prices
Laaz waiting on prices on the various models. I also requested wind tolerences and any guarantee they carry. All in all I have yet to see anything comparable in North America. Price can be an issue depends on how far you are willing to go to have other palms planted besides needles. Having this type of protection brings peace of mind for a very expensive hobby.

winter protection
John,
Yeah, wind looks like a factor...but....lets see how they hold up!...
Even for my Oleander's and smaller palms that are not as high this might work well?

protection
John,
My hardies are pretty well hardened off...Garaged at -8C lowest this winter..no problems...looking good..no spear pulls.
Now, if the wind chill can be eliminated outside..ie-plexi cover-it shouldn't be a problem...(with extra heat etc.)
I like the German design..it may do the job for me near the house!
