Does anyone have any pics of S. Minor that they are growing? It would be great to see some large ones.
Regards,
Jay

Jay,
It would be great to see some large specimens. I would like to see some good sized ones here in BC. I know Joe on SSI just got one and that Jeff in Victoria has a pretty good sized one also.
I have tried for two years now to get Maple Leaf Nurseries in North or West Vancouver to bring some in. If we all call them perhaps they will finally get them.
I have some small seedlings from some seeds I got in February. I figure I will be an old guy before they are a good size.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I would be interested in seeing pics of your seedlings. I am going to Casino tropics in July to see if they have any good sized ones. I hear they do but they are $400.00.
I wonder if there are any growers that would ship to Bellingham Washington? I have a friend down there that said I could get it ship to his house and then I can get it certified at his place so I can cross the border with it.

Hey Wes,
I'll post some pics probably tomorrow for you to see. I bet Ty from portlandpalms.com would ship some. He mentioned that he could get some more s. minors if there were more interest in them. I believe he had some 5 gallon size ones.

Jay

I took a quick pic of two of my s.minor seedlings. The others are outside but it's pouring rain. They are about the same as these two. Sorry for the bad pic. It's the two up front.

Jay, how old did you say those were, 4 years?
That is depressing.
I'll be dead before they hit a 5 gallon size.
Aaron,
Are yours about the same size?
I am going to use a .6 - .2 - .6 seaweed fertilizer on mine once every month. Hopefully this will help speed it up.

Wes,
When i got them from Joe on SSI last summer i'm sure he said they were three year old seedlings.
![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
If so maybe when i'm 60 they will be a decent size. LOL
It would be nice to find some 5 gallon ones. I had a seedling survive our last winter with just being mulched so i would love to try out a bigger sized one.
Regards,
Jay

Mine are about 3-4 years old, but are bigger
![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
They are very slow growing, but will pic up speed with age
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
I do give mine fertilizer in the spring. They final got a size big enough this year to plant a few out side again. I have some pics but not developed yet. I will post them at a latter date.
![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
The ones that Jay have in the pic look like first year seedlings.
![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
His have a lot longer leaves then mine do, but mine have wider leaves and more of them. Some leaves on the plants are starting to split, they are 2002-2003 plants.

Heres one I just bought in a box with a Sabal louisiana. The other plants I bought at alligator alley in oklahoma zone 6 and this stuff was growing outside at there store. For 100 bucks I got the huge louisiana and the minor in the same box. They sell the minors for 25 dollars I think

This is what a 4 year old minor should look like.
