Here's some pics of a filamentosa i picked up that has started to grow a small trunk. It's a little beat up right now but should look better by summer.

Looking good Jay. Now to keep it growing try to keep the suckers of the bottom. Force the plant to grow from the trunk

Now do i stop it from flowering also? Or just let it flower when it comes time?

I was stopping mine from flowering, but now I think I have changed my mind again? Sorry it is kind of a trail and error and not sure what works best, but I now if you do stop it from flowering it will keep growing out the same spear, but not very well sometimes.
So I will keep trying new things.
