Looking at building my first hut for my trachy.
I was wondering if anyone has used this. http://www.greenhousemegastore.com/prod ... ycarbonate
I was thinking of having a panel be one side of the hut
I want to make use of the suns heat so this will be on one side with plywood on other three sides.
Anyone have any thoughts or have you used this product?
thanks
Steve

Looks like an excellent product, Steve.
Haven't seen anything like that in our stores here.
You could also visit a shop that sells plexiglass and see if they have any cut pieces (free or cheap)
A 3-foot by 2-foot "window" in a palm hut south wall would work too.

I really love stuff like that, you can use it on a east/southeast wall of your
protection but for sure get a remote sensor in there because clear panels can
really jack the temps,I had an umbrella g-house over my Washy and at the
end of winter the temps would easily exceed 120F with it opened up.
Wal-Mart here sells clear pvc plastic by the yard so I use that over the cactus as long as possible.

And Washies love that, no wonder yours do so well, Jim.over my Washy and at the
end of winter the temps would easily exceed 120F with it opened up.
That temp would fry a Trachy.
Perfect! Will be using supplemental heat as well on those extremely cold nights either c-9 bulbs on thermocube or i may just use small ceramic heater with thermucube.
Just double check which T-cube you're purchasing.
TC-1 - On at 0 F, Off approx. 10 F
TC-2 - On at 20 F, Off approx. 30 F
TC-3 - On at 35 F, Off approx. 45 F
TC-21 - On at 78 F, Off approx. 70 F
TC-22 - On at 120 F, Off approx. 100 F
I use T-3.
