We had a terrible winter this year like much of the east. Long cold spells, record snow falls and high winds. My magnolia trees did surprisingly well considering the conditions and the fact that they get no protection.
This is the second year in the ground for my trees and to my surprise the DD Blanchard made it through with no damage while my EB's and little gem showed some burn. All trees have similar exposures so is the DD Blanchard hardier?
Little gem, no protection. Looks a little beat but it should be ok.
EB
Some burn nothing major
D.D. Blanchard looking great
D.D. Blanchard hardier than EB?

Great data. I'm surprised the little gem did so well.
