Got some inspiration today. As a result a few pictures of my garden. There are not so many palms in my garden. Too cold for them. Sorry for that...

Newly bought Acuba with a darkgreen glossy leaves:

Aucuba itself is an extremely rare grown plant in my area. This one my favorite for a couple of decades

It's height is about 4-5 feet.

Banana (not sure if it's basijo)

The same plant pic was taken a couple of weeks ago

More pictures... No palms so far....

Fatsia. New growth of the plant on right side has damaged a little bit after -4C frost a week ago. Both of these two plants were not damaged after this last extremely cold winter being covered with a wheat straw and some snow above

These two small fig trees survived with no evident damage after last harsh winter being covered with a very thin straw layer.

My front yard is very unusually looking for Kazakhstan 'cos normally people in Central Asia grow their plants behind the high break walls.

I have 7+ meters Gingko tree grown from the seed since 1987. This year the leaves got the fall coloration.

I have a few species of Ivy but only Hedera helix Baltica thrives on the wall with some leaves damage in winter. Perhaps it wouldn't be damaged to be growing on the north facing walls.

Kalopanax septemlobus is grown on Aralia elata roots so it wouldn't be a huge tree in a future.

Lonicera Dropmore Scarlet has a very long period of blooming from May to the end of October

My Trachies look no too bad

This Phormium is going inside for overwintering

Finally

This bamboo does pretty well in my climate but doesn't produce thick and high calms

Pisita, this water weed. Never mind, it's just for fan.

Yes, Sorbus and Larch var. Diana. Love these two trees.

A few more pics:

These EE plants were collected in a pond not far from Huston, TX in 2008. They are supposed to be overwintered along with the Gunnera plant which was survived last winter in my garden.

Parthenocissus henriana plant which was purchased in London last year.

Yes, Tim, it is a Fatsia. These two plants are entering into the second winter in a row.

Igor ... i believe the pic is a Kalopanax Pictus and a nice one too.

The other red striped plant looks like Phormium Tenax Pink stripe ? Will that survive your Winter Igor?
Favourite picture for me has to be the Sorbus and larix autumn colour combination. Ooops I mean Fall Color Combination. A tough job translating English to American

I see you have cut the leaves of the Bananas. Are you leaving the stem in situ with protection?

I can't grow EE's Bananas etc, the last 2 years
because of the drought,2 years ago they had 4' leaves

Andy, you are right about Phormium plant. It comes inside of my house soon. As for "aralia plants" I have both either Fatsia (two plants) and kalopanax septemlobus. You could check with my newly arranged posts.
Jim, my EE plants got a lot of extremely cheap water every summer. I pay about 100 USD per season for unlimited irrigation water use.
Barb, you are welcome visiting my garden as many times as you want! My yucca seedling are doing good. No time for picturing them... You won't enjoy seeing a bulk pots picture, will you?

Thanks, buddy! It's nothing special - a Horse Chestnut. It has been growing from the seed from 1989, from a year when my daughter was born.

Thanks, Tim! I have a friend-of-mine who is the exotic plants propagation freak. He brought the Kalopanax cuttings from Tashkent, Uzbekistan and grafted the leaf pods onto aralia roots. Kalopanax septemlobum f.Maximowiczii is even more attractive. Try to get this one. As I know from the Russian language sources the cuttings do not develop roots and the seeds has extremely low germination rate.

There is a pic of EE (taro plants producing bulbs).

The previous BB plants that you like so much (Texas collected) do not produce bulbs but running with the stolons.

Great garden Igor. Love the variety of plants. Especially, I love the Ginkgo Tree. We have them all over Philadelphia. William Hamilton brought them here in the 1700's and they were even a favorite tree of the famous local architect Frank Loyd Wright. Their genetic line spans way back to the Triassic period. So many cities rip them out and destroy them now because people complain of the foul smell and tracking the fruit indoors of office buildings. People say the nuts smells like vomit when the soft flesh is crushed on the ground. But then again some people say paperwhites smell like urine. I like the smell. Guess it depends on the person I love autumn when you smell their scent heavy in the air mixed with damp leaves and burning fires. Do you eat the nuts or make tea out of it?? I take ginkgo biloba supplements for memory enhancement...Who knows if it works.

You are right! Never haven't an experience with the Ginkgo "fruits" smell. I love the Swiss cheese smell - bought a nice one in Toronto for eating but my relatives want me take it it with me back to Kazakhstan.
