Echinocactus texensis
Has any one tried growing one of these? Probably hardy to 0F with good drainage, beautiful flowers, the petals look like feathers, also supposedly the largest cold hardy barrel-

I have seen them here in Idaho, but in most years they need some protection. I tried on last year, but I planted it late in the season and it died. It was protected also. If I try them again, it will be with a smaller cheaper plant.
I know of some that have been in a garden for 10 years or better.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
